Build your solo gig repertoire with these easy chord melody arrangements!
Did you always want to perform live, or just play for yourself or friends? Chord Melody aka solo jazz guitar is the style you need. You'll learn how to weave the chords and the melody together and master each of these popular jazz standards.
Each song is explained in detail, note for note. You'll learn some theory on the way and some important chord melody tricks.
* You need the Guitar Pro software to open the GP files. Guitar Pro is a software by Arobas Music that plays back written music notation / TABS. I don't sell this software, I just write TABS for it. Those files are a free bonus! If you don't own the Guitar Pro software, just use the PDF Tab instead. It's the SAME notation / TAB.
** Not all songs have backing tracks. Songs marked with ** are arranged for solo jazz guitar, that don't come with a backing track. Generally, if the Youtube video doesn't have a backing track in the performance, there also won't be one in this bundle.

II V I - Good Voice Leading:
The II V I is the most used chord progression in jazz (aka jazz cadence). For a musical flow it’s important to have smooth transitions between the chords, witholut bigger jumps. In this lesson you learn how to have good voice leading comping the melody (head) of a song and during the solo (which requires different comping techniques).
+ PDF Tab with examples, Guitar Pro Tabs*
-
Altered Chords:
Learn what alterations are and when you have to alter dominant chords. Harmonising the altered scale, so you have a chord on each scale tone. Examples on how to integrate altered chords in a II V I progression. Examples for Comping, Rhythm Fills, Chord Melody, Chord Solos.

-
Half-Diminished Chords:
The half-diminished chord is necessary for a ii V i in minor, but can also be used as a substitution over dominant chords. You’ll learn all the chords until the b-string and high e-strng, all over the fretboard. Then we’ll apply these chords over several ii V i examples in minor.
+ 1 PDF Tab with Chord Diagrams and Examples, 2 Backing Tracks, Guitar Pro Tabs*

Diminished Chords:
Diminished chords are used as passing chords or substitutions for dominant chords. You’ll learn all the chords until the b-string and high e-string and apply them to both situations.

-
Bonus: Minor Chord Vamps:
It’s fun to jam over just one chord (usually in minor). But what to play over it. In this lesson you learn how to connect all the cool minor chrods and even learn some new Quartal Voicings for a modern jazz sound.
Accept the challenge and delve into the world of one-chord-vamps.
